I lament the days that Ariake was open and we lived so close to Cottonwood Mall. I loved Ariake's miso soup the most. Thank goodness for Annie Chun's 100% natural miso soup. it's not sold everywhere but still easy to find.
I miss the gyoza as well. Fortunately there's Ling Ling's frozen pot stickers.
By the way I was wondering about the panda..
Are you just a little curious about the name and Panda icon? Ling-Ling was one of two giant panda bears given to the United States by the Chinese government in 1972. The female panda was named Ling-Ling and her companion was Hsing-Hsing. They lived at the National Zoo in Washington D.C.
Now if only I can figure out how to make the Pesto Tortellini like that of the American Grill. When I worked at the mall I ate it almost everyday.
